On July 15, 2009 the Chilliwack Tennis Society (CTS) became incorporated under the B.C. Society Act. As stated in our constitution; “The purpose of the society is to promote community tennis for all ages at the lowest possible cost on a non profit basis.” Finally, tennis in our community is represented under one umbrella organization including seniors, adults and juniors. Our membership continues to grow although membership is by affiliation as we do not have a dedicated tennis facility for our purpose.
As tennis continues to grow in popularity, so does the demand for indoor courts. “An estimated 13% of British Columbians consider themselves regular tennis players. BC ranked as the #1 area for growth in Canada. Adults ages 45-64 playing has increased from 13% to 21%. In the past 3 years, tennis events in BC have grown over 32% in participation.”
